D-segmenti yengil avtomobillar uchun Yevropa segmentlarining 4-toifasi bo'lib, "katta avtomobillar" sifatida tavsiflanadi.[1][2]
Bu Euro NCAP "katta oilaviy avtomobil" o'lchami sinfiga [3] va Shimoliy Amerikada qo'llaniladigan o'rta o'lchamli avtomobil va mushak avtomobillari toifasining hozirgi taʼrifiga teng.[4][5] ixcham premium avtomobillar ham D-segment o'lchami toifasiga kiradi.
