1520ء تقویمی اعتبار سے لیپ کا سال تھا۔ اِس سال کا آغاز اتوار سے ہوا۔

سلطان سلیمان اول عالیشان 26 سال کی عمر میں تخت نشیں ہوئے، جبکہ باقاعدہ تخت نشینی 30 ستمبر 1520ء کو عمل میں آئی۔ سلطان بیک وقت خلیفۃ الاسلام، امیر المومنین، سُلطان سلطنتِ عثمانیہ، خادِم الحرمین الشریفین تھے۔ اِن کا عہدِ حکومت 7 ستمبر 1566ء تک رہا۔
