Lords 7 Mayıs 1968'de Steubenville, Ohio'da Ukrayna Yahudisi asıllı İrlandalı ve Rus kökenli bir ailenin kızı olarak doğdu.^[6] Lords tanınmadan önce 1984'ten itibaren gençlik döneminde pornografik tarzda oynadığı filmlerle dikkat çekmiştir.^[7][8] 1990'lı yılların en çok iş yapan oyuncularından birisiydi.^[9][10] Genelde "B-Filmleri" denilen düşük bütçeli aksiyon, romantik ve dram tarzında televizyon filmlerinde rol almıştır.^[11][12] Yer aldığı yapımlar arasında; "Carl's Date" rolünü canlandırdığı televizyon filmi, Serial Mom ve Racquel karakterini canlandırdığı sinema filmi, Blade vb. sayılabilir.^{[13][14][15][16]}
