GrendelAnglo-Sakson destanı Beowulf'da, Grendel'in annesi ve ejderha ile birlikte üç düşman karakterden biridir. Bu bilimsel tartışma konusu olmasına rağmen Grendel, genellikle bir canavar, Troll ya da bir dev olarak tasvir edilir. Destanda Grendel, Beowulf hariç herkes tarafından korkulan bir karakterdir.[1]
