Bagerhat Tarihi Cami Şehri, Bangladeş'in güneyinde Ganj Nehri ile Brahmaputra Nehri'nin kesiştiği noktada 15. yüzyılda kurulmuş şehirdir.

Delhi Sultanı IV. Muhammed Şah döneminde Cihan Ali adlı Türk komutanı tarafından "Halife Şehri" adıyla bir İslam şehri olarak kurulan şehir, 1459'da kurucusunun ölümünden sonra ormanla kaplandı. Günümüze tarihi şehrin 50 yapısı ulaşmıştır. İçlerinde en önemlisi Altmış Kubbeli Cami'dir.
1985'te UNESCO Dünya Mirası listesine girmiştir.[1]
Siyasi ve dini nedenlerle Bengal'in ücra bir yöresinde bir İslam yerleşimi kurmayı istediği söylenen Delhi Sultanı, Ali Cihan'ı bu işle görevlendirmişti. Çoğu birbirinin aynı modelde 360 cami, pek çok kamu binası, köprü, su deposu, saray kısa sürede inşa edildi. Yapı malzemesi fırınlanmış tuğla idi. Şehri kurduktan sonra hayatının geri kalanını Bahgerat'ta geçiren ve 1459'da ölen Cihan Ali'nin türbesi bir ziyaret mekanıdır. Hemen bitişiğinde yakın dostu Pir Ali'nin türbesi bulunur.
