Michael York

Michael York OBE (doğum adı: Michael Hugh Johnson;^[1] 27 Mart 1942^[2]), İngiliz film, televizyon ve tiyatro oyuncusudur. Kraliyet Ulusal Tiyatrosu'nda sahneye çıktıktan sonra, Franco Zeffirelli'nin Romeo ve Juliet'inde (1968) Tybalt'ı canlandırarak filmlerde bir atılım yaptı. Sarışın, mavi gözlü çocuksu görünümü ve İngiliz üst sınıf tavırları, 1970'lerin birçok önemli İngiliz ve Hollywood filminde başrol oynadığını gördü. En iyi bilinen rolleri arasında Herkes İçin Bir Şey'de (1970) Konrad Ludwig, Zeppelin'de (1971) Geoffrey Richter-Douglas, Kabare'de Brian Roberts (1972), Lost Horizon'da (1973) George Conway, Üç Silahşörler'de D'Artagnan ve iki devam filmi, Doğu Ekspresinde Cinayet'te (1974) Kont Andrenyi ve Logan'ın Koşusu'nda (1976) yer aldı.

Özel hayatı

York, fotoğrafçı Patricia McCallum'la 1967'de kendisini fotoğraflamakla görevlendirildiği sırada tanıştı ve 27 Mart 1968'de, yani York'un 26. doğum gününde evlendiler. Üvey oğlu Star Wars yapımcısı Rick McCallum'dur^[3] Uluslararası En İyi Giyinen Liste Onur Listesi'ne seçildi.

Sağlık sorunları

York, 2013 yılında amiloidoz adı verilen nadir bir hastalıktan muzdarip olduğunu duyurdu.^[4] Doktorlar başlangıçta kemik kanseri olduğunu düşündüler.^[5] 2012 yılında semptomları hafifletebilen bir kök hücre nakli geçirdi^[6]

York ve eşi, tedavi için Mayo Kliniğine daha yakın olabilmek amacıyla 2022 yılında Rochester, Minnesota'ya taşındı^[7][8]
