Ang sari ng Gallus ay ang apat na nabubuhay na mga uri ng ibon ng pamilya Phasianidae. Sila ay matatagpuan sa India, Sri Lanka at Timog-silangang Asya.

Ang mga Gallus ay mga malalaking ibon kung saan ang mga lalaki ay may mga makukulay na mga balahibo. Subalit ang mga ito ay mahirap hanapin sa kanilang masukal na tirahan.
Tulad ng mga ibang ibon ng Phasianidae, ang mga makukulay na mga lalake ay hindi tumutulong sa pagkupkop ng mga itlog or pag-alaga ng mga batang precocial. Ang mga gawaing ito ay ginagampanan ng mga babae na malalam at naka-camouflage.
Ang Gallus ay kalimitang kumakain ng mga buto ng mga halaman ngunit maari rin silang kumain ng mga kulisap, lalo na ang mga batang ibon.
Ang Gallus gallus ay maaring ninuno ng manok subalit ang Gallus sonneratii ay maari ding isa sa mga ninuno nito.[1].
