Liwanag

Ang liwanag, o nakikitang liwanag, ay elektromagnetikong radyasyon may haba ng daluyong na nakikita ng mata ng tao (mga 400-700 nm), o hanggang 380-750 nm.[1] Sa malawak ng larangan ng pisika, kadalasang tumutukoy ang liwanag sa lahat ng elektromagnetikong radyasyon ng lahat ng haba ng daluyong, kahit na ito'y nakikita o hindi.

May tatlong katangian ang liwanag:
- Katindihan;
- Prikwensiya o haba ng daluyong at;
- Polarisasyon.
Maaaring magkaroon ang liwanag ng parehong katangian ng daluyong at sambutil (mga poton). Tinatawag na kadalawahan ng daluyong-sambutil (wave particle duality) ang katangiang ito. Tinatawag na optika ang pag-aaral ng liwanag na isang mahalagang larangan ng pagsasaliksik sa makabagong pisika.
