దండాకార బాక్టీరియాలను బాసిల్లస్ (Bacillus) అంటారు. దీనికి బహువచనం బాసిల్లై (Bacilli). ఇవి తిరిగి మూడు రకాలుగా ఉంటాయి.
- మోనోబాసిల్లస్ (Monobacillus): ఒంటరిగా ఉండే దండాకార బాక్టీరియమ్.
- డిప్లోబాసిల్లస్ (Diplobacillus): ఒక జత దండాకార బాక్టీరియాలు.
- స్ట్రెప్టోబాసిల్లస్ (Streptobacillus): ఒకే వరుసలో గొలుసులాగా అమరి ఉండే దండాకార బాక్టీరియాలు.
