உறையூரிலிருந்து அரசாண்டு வந்த சோழர் குல மன்னர் கோப்பெருஞ்சோழன். அவர் அக்காலத்தில் வாழ்ந்த மற்றொரு புகழ் வாய்ந்த சோழ மன்னன் ஆவான். இம்மன்னன் தாமே ஒரு புலவராய் இருந்ததோடு, பிசிராந்தையார், போத்தியார் ஆகிய இரு புலவரின் நெருங்கிய நட்பை பெற்றிருந்தார்.[1]
