Zakir Hussain Allarakha Qureshi (9 March 1951 – 15 December 2024) was an Indian tabla player, composer, percussionist, music producer and movie actor. He was known for playing classical Indian music. He was honored with the National Endowment for the Arts' National Heritage Fellowship. Hussain has received seven Grammy Award nominations, with four wins, including three in 2024.[1][2]

Hussain died on 15 December 2024 at his home in San Francisco, California from problems caused by idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis at the age of 73.[3]
