We Need to Talk About Kevin is a 2011 British-American crime movie. It was directed by Lynne Ramsay. It was based on Lionel Shriver's novel of the same name. The movie was developed in 2005 but due to money problems it was not filmed until April 2010.

Tilda Swinton stars as the mother of Kevin. Throughout the movie she tries to understand why her son is a sociopath and murderer. The movie premiered at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival and was released in the United Kingdom on October 21, 2011.[3] We Need to Talk About Kevin was released on Blu-ray and DVD on May 29, 2012.[4]
