Susan Povey FMedSci (1942 – 11 January 2019), also known as Sue, was a British geneticist. From 1970 to 2000 she was at the Medical Research Council's Human Biochemical Genetics Unit at the Galton Laboratory.
She was a professor at University College London from 2000 to 2007,[1] becoming Emeritus after retirement.[1]
She was chair of the HUGO Gene Nomenclature Committee from 1996 to 2007. Povey was elected a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences (FMedSci) in 2000.[1]
Povey died on 11 January 2019 at the age of 76.[2]
