Shane Stone

Shane Leslie Stone AC QC (born 25 September 1950) is an Australian politician. He is a member of the Country Liberal Party. He was first elected to office as a member of the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly for Port Darwin in 1990.^[1] He then served as Chief Minister of the Northern Territory from 1995 to 1999. He became the federal president of the Liberal Party of Australia in 1999. He served in this role until 2005.

The Malaysian state of Sabah made Stone a Commander of the Order of Kinabalu in 1998.

Stone was born in Bendigo, Victoria.
