Roman Grigoryevich Viktyuk (Russian: Роман Григорьевич Виктюк, Ukrainian: Роман Григорович Віктюк, romanized: Roman Hryhorovych Viktiuk; October 28, 1936 – November 17, 2020) was a Ukrainian-Russian theatre director, actor, and playwright. He was born in Lviv, Ukraine. His career began in 1956. In 2006, he was honored with the People's Artist of Ukraine and in 2009 with the People's Artist of Russia.
He was also Professor of the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (GITIS).[1]
In late-October 2020, Viktyuk was hospitalized in Moscow with COVID-19. He died from the infection and thrombosis on November 17 2020 at the age of 84.[2][3]
