Pop Smoke

Bashar Barakah Jackson (July 20, 1999 – February 19, 2020), known professionally as Pop Smoke, was an American rapper. He was eventually signed to Victor Worldwide and Republic Records. In April 2019, he released the song "Welcome to the Party". The song was the lead single of his first mixtape Meet the Woo, which was released in July 2019. "Welcome to the Party" was made into two remixes featuring Nicki Minaj and Skepta in August 2019. He also worked with Lil Tjay, Calboy and Travis Scott.

Life

Bashar Barakah Jackson was born in Brooklyn, New York. He attended middle school there and got expelled in 8th grade. He was the son of a Jamaican mother and a Panamanian father.

Murder

On February 19, 2020, Jackson was shot three times by a male teenager during a home invasion in Los Angeles, California. He was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he died later that day at age of 20.[1]
