time zone From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Philippine Standard Time (PST; Filipino: Pamantayang Oras ng Pilipinas) is the time zone used in the Philippines. It is 8 hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC+8). The time zone is the same all year round because the Philippines does not observe Daylight Saving Time.[1]
The Philippines is located between 116°53′ and 126°34′ east of the Prime Meridian, and is in the UTC+08:00 time zone. Philippine Standard Time is managed by PAGASA. The Philippines has the same time zone as China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, Western Australia, Brunei, parts of Russia, Indonesia, and Mongolia. (Except the western part, because they use UTC+07:00.)
