Peng Shuai (Chinese: 彭帅; born 8 January 1986) is a Chinese professional tennis player. She was ranked world No. 1 doubles by the WTA. She is the first Chinese tennis player to do so.[1]
Peng has won two singles and 22 doubles titles. She won a gold medal at the 2010 Asian Games. At the 2013 Wimbledon Championships, Peng won her first ladies' doubles championship. She was born in Xiangtan, Hunan.
In November 2021, Peng accused former senior Chinese vice premier Zhang Gaoli of sexually assaulting her. She later disappeared and was censored by Chinese government.[2]
