Paula Yates

Paula Elizabeth Yates (24 April 1959 – 17 September 2000) was a British television presenter and writer. She was best known for her work on two television programmes, The Tube (1982–87) and The Big Breakfast (1992–85).

Yates was born in Colwyn Bay, north Wales. She was married to Irish musician Bob Geldof. Their children were Fifi Trixibelle Geldof (born 1983), Peaches Honeyblossom Geldof (1989–2014) and Little Pixie Geldof (born 1990). She was married to Geldof from 1986 until their divorce in 1996. She began a relationship with Australian musician Michael Hutchence. They had a daughter, Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily Hutchence Geldof (born 1996). In 1997, Hutchence killed himself. Soon after, Bob Geldof took full custody of their three children.

Yates died from an accidental heroin overdose having been found unresponsive at her home in London, England on 17 September 2000. She was 41.^[1] After Yates' death, Geldof got custody of Tiger Lily, and later adopted her. Her daughter, Peaches, died from the same cause in April 2014.^[2]
