One Blackfriars is a skyscraper in London located at No. 1 Blackfriars Road in Bankside. It has 52 floors and 274 apartments, a hotel and retail shops.[1] The building is 170 metres (560 ft) tall. It is also known as The Vase or The Boomerang due to its shape.[2][3]

Design

The shape was inspired by the shape of glass vase Lansetti designed by Timo Sarpaneva in 1952.[4]

Construction

Construction of the tower started in 2013. It includes 13 studio houses, 78 one bedroom houses, 120 two bedroom houses, 56 three bedroom houses, 6 four bedroom houses and 1 three apartment house. The tower was finished in 2019.[5]
