Wagner Domingues Costa (November 5, 1968 – September 9, 2018), known professionally as Mr. Catra, was a Brazilian funk singer and actor.[1] He was born in Rio de Janeiro. He was known in Brazilian pop culture for his large number of children, 32 total and having two wives. He was also known for his famous laugh at the beginning or ending of his songs.[2]
In 1994, he released his first album "O Bonde dos Justos", recording the hit song "Life in the Chain". The songs of strong themes caught the attention of Warner Bros Music. In 1999, Warner Bros. helped Mr. Catra launch the CD "O fiel".
Mr. Catra died on September 9, 2018 from stomach cancer in São Paulo at the age of 49.[3]
