Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena (sometimes referred to as BMPS or MPS)[1] is an Italian bank. It is the oldest surviving retail bank in the world.[2] The bank has its headquarters in Siena, Italy.
The company's website says that the bank was founded in the year 1472.[3]
