Marjan (singer)

Shahla Safi Zamir (Persian: شهلا صافی ضمیر, 1948 – 6 June 2020), better known by her stage name Marjan (Persian: مرجان), was an Iranian singer and actress.^[1]

Her career lasted from 1969 to 2012. She was born in Shiraz, Iran.^[2] Her best known roles were in Morgh-e tokhm-tala, Salam Bar Eshgh and Takye bar baad.

Marjan died on 6 June 2020, aged 72.^[3]

She died due to a cardiac arrest. She spent the last years of her life in Los Angeles.^[4][5][6]
