Khabib Abdulmanapovich Nurmagomedov (Russian: Хабиб Абдулманапович Нурмагомедов; Avar: ХIабиб ГӀабдулманапил НурмухӀамадов; born 20 September 1988) is a Russian former professional mixed martial artist. He started his career in 2008. He was signed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He was the UFC Lightweight Champion at the moment. He held the longest streak in MMA history without losing, with 29 wins. He defended his title, beating Conor McGregor by submission at UFC 229 in October 2018. He is the first Russian to win a UFC title. He is also a two-time Combat Sambo World Champion. He formerly fought as a welterweight.

Nurmagomedov was born in the village of Sildi, Tsumadinsky District in Dagestan. He is an Avar. He married in June 2013. He has a daughter and a son.[1] He lives in Makhachkala, Dagestan. He is a Sunni Muslim.[2]
