Julia Donaldson

Julia Catherine Donaldson CBE (née Shields; born 16 September 1948)[1][2] is an English writer. She has published over 180 works.

Donaldson earned a Children's Laureate award for her children's books, which include The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom and Stick Man. Many of her children's books are illustrated by German artist Axel Scheffler.

Awards

She has won many awards. In 2011, Donaldson was made a Member of the British Empire by Elizabeth II. She was also made the honorary doctorate of the University of Bristol and the University of Glasgow.
