Jerry Springer

Gerald Norman "Jerry" Springer (February 13, 1944 – April 27, 2023) was an American talk show host, movie, television, radio, and stage actor. He was the host for The Jerry Springer Show. He served as Mayor of Cincinnati from 1977 to 1978 as a Democrat.[3]

Springer was born in February 13, 1944 in Highgate, London to Jewish parents from Germany.[4] He was raised in London until he and his parents moved to New York City and in Chicago, Illinois. He was the Mayor of Cincinnati from 1977 through 1978. He married Vicki Melton in 1973. He lived in Cincinnati, Ohio and in Chicago, Illinois.

Political career

After announcing his candidacy, Springer was called to active duty and stationed at Fort Knox. He resumed his campaign after he was discharged.

Personal life

In 1973 Springer got married to Micki Velton and had one daughter, Katie Springer (born 1976), and got divorced in 1994.

Death

Springer died on April 27, 2023, at the age of 79, at his home in Evanston, Illinois. A family spokesperson said he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a few months before his death.[5][6]
