James Cayne

James E. Cayne (February 14, 1934 – December 28, 2021) was an American businessman. He was the CEO of Bear Stearns. In 2006, he became "the first Wall Street chief to own a company stake worth more than $1 billion".

In February 2009, Cayne was named in Time Magazine's list of "25 People to Blame for the Financial Crisis."[1]

Cayne died on December 28, 2021 at a hospital in Long Branch, New Jersey from problems caused by a stroke, at the age of 87.[2][3]
