Jacob Jeremiah Sullivan (born November 28, 1976) is an American politician who was the 28th United States National Security Advisor from 2021 until 2025 during the Joe Biden administration.

Sullivan was born in Burlington, Vermont[1] and grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota.[2] Sullivan studied at Yale University and at Magdalen College, Oxford.
He was the senior policy advisor to Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential election campaign and Deputy Chief of Staff at the Department of State.[3] Sullivan was the Montgomery Fellow at Dartmouth College and a senior fellow and Master in Public Policy faculty member at the Carsey School of Public Policy.
On November 23, 2020, President-elect Joe Biden announced that he wanted Sullivan to be his National Security Advisor.[4]
In 2015, Sullivan married lawyer Maggie Goodlander, who is a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from New Hampshire [5] In 2023, Goodlander gave birth to a stillborn at a hotel room.[6]
