Gregory C. Johnson (March 16, 1971 – July 7, 2019) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He played parts of fourteen seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). He played for the Detroit Red Wings, Pittsburgh Penguins, Chicago Blackhawks, and Nashville Predators.

On July 7, 2019, Johnson was found dead in the basement of his house by his wife. It was concludedby police that Johnson had committed suicide by firearm.[2] After his death, an autopsy revealed that Johnson had been suffering from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).[3]
