Frank Pierson

Frank Romer Pierson (May 12, 1925 July 22, 2012) was an American movie director, movie producer, and screenwriter. He was known for his works in Dog Day Afternoon, Cool Hand Luke, A Star is Born, Soldier's Girl, and King of Gypsies. He won an Academy Award in 1975.

He was born on May 12, 1925 in Chappaqua, New York.[1] He studied at Harvard College. He was married to Helene Pierson until his death. He died on July 22, 2012 in his Los Angeles, California home from natural causes, aged 87.[2]
