Emmanuela Emma Marrone (born 25 May 1984), also known as Emma, is an Italian singer and songwriter. She is also a actress.

After working with many bands, she won the Italian talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi in March 2010. She signed a contract with Universal Music. Since 2010, she has let out seven solo studio albums, one extended play, and 39 singles. On 18 February 2012, she won the Sanremo Music Festival 2012 with her song "Non è l'inferno". She represented Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with her song "La mia città". She was 21st place.
She has worked with singers like Elisa, Alessandra Amoroso, Modà, Fabrizio Moro, Vasco Rossi, Giuliano Sangiorgi and Roberto Casalino.
She received many Italian and other awards, including three MTV Italian Music Awards and one TRL Awards. Marrone was nominated at the MTV Europe Music Award and the World Music Awards.
Emmanuela Marrone was born in Florence. Marrone spent her early life in Sesto Fiorentino. When she was four years old, she moved to Aradeo with her family.[1] She got her love for music from her father. Her father was a guitarist in a band called "Karadreon" and a band called "H2O".[2][3] She graduated from classical high school.[4] She worked in a warehouse.[5][6]
Marrone started her career in 2003. She was in the Italian edition of the television show Popstars. Marrone won the talent show. With Laura Pisu and Colomba Pane, they made a group. The group was called Lucky Star. Lucky Star let out a single in 2003. It is called "Stile". The band later broke up.
In 2007, Marrone made another alternative rock group, M.J.U.R..[7][8] The group signed a contract with Dracma Records.
Between 2007 and 2009, she was in a band with her uncle.[9]
In 2009, she was in another talent show for Canale 5, Amici di Maria De Filippi. She won the competition.
In March 2010, Marrone let out her first extended play, Oltre.[10] Oltre was given triple platinum for its sales in Italy.[11] In Switzerland, the extended play was at number 85.[12] Oltre was number one for two weeks on the Italian Albums Chart.[10] Later, her first single was let out. It is called "Calore". Calore was number one for two weeks and was given platinum.[13]
On 28 May 2010, Marrone was in the Wind Music Awards.[14] In June 2010, she began her first tour. Later, she also was in the Amici Tour 2010. In July 2010, the second single from Oltre was let out. After the tour, she let out the video for her third single "Sembra strano".
In the summer of 2010, Marrone got the award for Best Female Vocalist of the Year 2010 at the Venice Music Awards.[15]
On 19 October, Marrone's second record was let out. It was called A me piace così. A me piace così was at number two on the Italian Singles Chart.[16] It was at number 50 in Switzerland.[17] On 19 November 2010, the second single in the album was let out.
Marrone was in the Sanremo Music Festival 2011 with the group Modà.[18] They were in second place.[18] On 15 April 2011, her song "Io son per te l'amore" was released as a single. On 29 May 2011, she opened the final of the Italian Cup 2010–2011 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, singing the Italian national anthem.[19]
In the summer of 2011, Emma did her second tour, A me piace cosi Tour 2011.[20]
In September 2011, her album, A me piace cosi was given double platinum.[21] "Arriverà" was given multiplatinum.[22]
On 20 September 2011, Marrone let out her third studio album, Sarò libera. She later let out a single that was also called Sarò libera. The single was let out on 2 September 2011.[23] The song was given gold in Italy.[24] The album was on top of the Italian Album Chart. The album was also given triple platinum.[25]
On 15 January 2012, Marrone said that she would be in the Sanremo Music Festival 2012. She sang her single "Non è l'inferno" with Alessandra Amoroso. On 19 February 2012, she was said to be the winner.[26] The song "Non è l'inferno" went to number one in the Italian singles chart. It was also given double platinum.[25] In Switzerland, the single was at number nineteen. The single was on the chart for three weeks.[27][28]
In February 2012, Marrone was picked to be in a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards for Best Italian singer. On 31 March 2012, Marrone went back to the talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi.[29] It was won by Alessandra Amoroso.[29] Amoroso said that she would give half of the prize to Marrone.[30]
At the TRL Awards 2012, Emma was picked for Best Fan and Italians Do It Better. She won both awards.[31]
On 27 April 2012, Emma let out "Cercavo amore".[32] It is the fourth single from her album Sarò libera.[32] The single was at the top of the Italian Singles Chart for two weeks and was given platinum.[33] In Switzerland, it was at number sixty-eight.[34]

In February 2013, Marrone got a nomination for the Kids' Choice Award 2013 for Best Italian Singer.[40] On 15 February, Marrone sang the song "Per Elisa" by Alice. She sang it with the singer Annalisa.[41] On 16 February, Marrone was picked to be an artistic director of a team in Amici di Maria De Filippi. The team had to compete against Miguel Bosé's team.[42]
On 9 April 2013, Emma let out her third solo album, Schiena.[43][44] It was number one on the Italian album chart, and was given triple platinum.[45][25]
On 21 January 2014, it was said by RAI that Marrone would sing for Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark. She sang the song "La mia città".[46][47] In the end, Marrone was twenty-first place and had thirty-three points.[48]
On 11 November 2014, Emma let our her first live album called E Live. It had 15 songs sang live at the Arena di Verona.[49] The song was written by Marrone. The song had at first been let out as a single by Antonino in 2012.
Between 10-14 February 2015, Marrone helped with the 65th edition of the Sanremo Music Festival with Carlo Conti and Arisa.[50] On 19 June 2015, Marrone let out the song "Occhi profondi" as the lead single from her fourth solo studio album, Adesso.[51] The song peaked at number thirteen in Italy and was given double platinum.[52] Adesso was let out on 27 November 2015.
Marrone let out "Arriverà l'amore" on 23 October 2015.[53] The song was at number five on the Italian singles chart. The album was at number two in Italy.[52] In 2016, "Io di te non-ho paura", "Il paradiso non-esiste" and "Quando le canzoni finiranno" were let out as singles.[54][55][56]
On 5 January 2018, Marrone let out "L'isola" as the lead single from her fifth solo studio album, Essere qui. A music video for the song was made in New York and let out on the same day.[57] The song was at number 7 on the Italian singles chart. It spent two weeks on the chart.[52]
Essere qui was let out on 26 January 2018.[58] It was at number two on the Italian albums chart.[59] "Effetto domino" was let out as the album's second single on 2 March 2018.[60] The song's music video was taken to Marrone's YouTube channel on the same day.[61] "Mi parli piano" was let out as the album's third single on 4 May 2018.[62] On the next day, a music video for the song was taken to Emma's YouTube channel.[63] The song had eleven weeks on the Italian singles chart. It was given gold in Italy.[52]
Marrone let out the single "Mondiale" on 2 November 2016.[64] The song spent three weeks on the Italian singles chart. The song was at number seven.[52] A music video for the song was taken to Emma's YouTube channel on 5 November 2018.[65] In February 2019, Marrone started the Essere qui tour for her album.[66]
In March 2019, Marrone went to Los Angeles to start work on her next album..[67] On 6 September 2019, Emma let out "Io sono bella" as the lead single for her solo studio album Fortuna. It was made at Speakeasy Studio in Los Angeles.[68] The music video for the song was taken to Emma's official YouTube channel on 9 September 2019.[69] The song was at number thirty-three on the Italian singles chart.[70] In October 2019, the song was number one on the Italian airplay chart.[71]
On 20 September 2019, Marrone said that she would be taking a break for health reasons. On social media, she said sorry to her fans and said that she would come back stronger than she had been before.[72] On 28 September, she said that she had left the hospital but needed more time to get better.[73]
On 16 October 2019, Marrone said that her studio album Fortuna would be let out on 25 October 2019. In addition to the album's title and release date, Emma showed the cover and said she would do a concert on 25 May 2020 at the Arena di Verona.[74] When the album was let out on 25 October, Fortuna was number one on the Italian album chart.[75] Fortuna was given gold in Italy.[76]
On 6 December 2019, "Stupida allegria" was let out as the second single in Fortuna. In June 2020, she helped with X Factor Italy with Hell Raton, Mika, and Manuel Agnelli.[83]
On January 15, 2021, "Pezzo di cuore" was let out. Marrone made the song with Alessandra Amoroso.[84] The song was given platinum by FIMI.[85] On 4 June 2021, the single "Che sogno incredibile" was let out.[86] Marrone made the song with Loredana Bertè.[86]
Emma was at the Sanremo Music Festival 2022. She sang "Ogni volta è così". She was sixth place. The song was at number thirteen on the Italian singles chart and was given platinum.[87] Later that year, Marrone was in the movie Il ritorno.[88]
On 28 August 2023, Emma said that her next studio album would be let out on 13 October 2023. For the album, Emma did a tour called Souvenir in Da Club in November and December 2023.[89][90] Emma was in the Sanremo Music Festival 2024. She sang the song "Apnea". She was fourteenth place.[91][92][93] She did another tour, called Emma in Da Town, in November 2024.[94]
In February 2011 Marone was in Se non-ora quandoII.[95] It is a protest in support of the rights of women.[96] Marrone did it again in 2012.[97]
She made a campaign to raise awareness of stopping cancer for young people.[98] From May 2011 Emma did a testimonial to the Italian Association for Cancer Research to help find a cure for cancer.[99]
In 2012 Marrone was in the fashion shoe brand Ishikawa. Three hundred shoes were created. The money were given to the Association Onus Peter Pan to help sick children.[100]
Marrone was born in Florence. She graduated in Aradeo, and now lives in Frascati.[101]
At the end of 2009 she began dating the Amici di Maria De Filippi dancer Stefano De Martino. Marrone and Martino stopped dating because of Martino’s affair with Giulia Pauselli.[102] De Martino said in March 2011 that he and Marrone were dating again. In April 2012, they stopped dating for good after De Martino had another affair with showgirl Belén Rodríguez.[102]
