Detroit is a 2017 American period crime drama movie directed by Kathryn Ann Bigelow and written by Mark Boal. The movie is about Detroit's 1967 12th Street Riot. It stars John Boyega, Will Poulter, Algee Smith, Jacob Latimore, Jason Mitchell, Hannah Murray, Kaitlyn Dever, Jack Reynor, Ben O'Toole, Nathan Davis, Jr., Peyton Alex Smith, Malcolm David Kelley, Joseph David-Jones, with John Krasinski and Anthony Mackie.[6] The movie got positive reviews and made less money.

Detroit had positive reviews from critics. The movie has an 82% on Rotten Tomatoes. The site says the movie is "gut-wrenching".[7]
