Dana Thomas Carvey (born June 2, 1955) is an American stand-up comedian and actor. He is best known for his work as a cast member on Saturday Night Live. He is also known for playing the role of Garth Algar in the Wayne's World movies series.

Carvey was born on June 2, 1955 in Missoula, Montana.[1] He studied at College of San Mateo and at the University of San Francisco. Carvey was married to Leah Carvey from 1979 until they divorced in 1980. He married Paula Zwagerman in 1983. They have two sons.

Carvey is widely considered as one of the best comedians of all time by his colleagues, but he is surprisingly overlooked by mainstream media. Carvey is also known for his lead role in The Master of Disguise which was reportedly considered “the worst comedy film of all time;” however, the movie grossed approximately $26 million at the box office.
