Australian ice hockey player From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Basil Hansen (7 October 1926 – 2 January 2015) was an Australian ice hockey player. He played from 1946 until 1963. He was a member of the Australian national team during the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley, California, United States. He played for the Monarchs his entire career and even coarched the team for two years after his retirement.

Hansen was born in Melbourne, Victoria. His son, Greg, also became an ice hockey player.
Hansen died on 2 January 2015 at the age of 88.[1]
