Area codes 512 and 737
area codes serving Austin, Texas, United States From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Area code 512 and 737 are telephone area codes in the North American Numbering Plan. It covers the central part of Texas, including cities like Austin, San Marcos, and Round Rock. Area code 512 was established in 1947 as one of the original area codes and initially served the entire state of Texas. Over time, as the population grew and the demand for phone numbers increased, area code 512 was split to create 210 in 1992. It was overlaid by 737 in 2013.[1]
