The Tornjak (pronounced as "tornyak"), is a Bosnian and Herzegovinian – Croatian Shepherd dog (official English name).[1] It is a mountain sheep dog native to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia. The dog was mentioned in documents in the 11th and 14th-century. It almost became extinct, but was saved when a breeding program began in the early 1970s.[2]
