Tori Penso

Mary Victoria Penso, (née Hancock; born 1986), is an American soccer referee. She started her career as a referee in professional soccer in the National Women's Soccer League.[2] Later, she moved to Major League Soccer. In 2020, she made history by becoming the first woman to referee a regular season match in 20 years in Major League Soccer.[3]

In 2023, Penso had the honor of being the referee for the final match of the FIFA Women's World Cup. This was significant because it was the first time an American referee officiated a World Cup final.
