"The Stranger" is a 1978 song by Billy Joel and is the title track from his fifth studio album of the same name. It went to number 2 in Japan, number 8 in New Zealand and number 59 in Australia and France. It was not released in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Ireland.
