Swedish writer From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sven Oskar Lindqvist (28 March 1932 – 14 May 2019) was a Swedish author. He wrote mostly non-fiction works. Some of his noted works include Exterminate All the Brutes and A History of Bombing. His writings focused on developing nations in Africa, China, India, Latin America and Australia. During the 1960s, Lindqvist lived in China for two years. He wrote three books about China with his first wife, Sinologist Cecilia Lindqvist. From the 1980s onward, he wrote about many topics including European imperialism, colonialism, racism, genocide and war.
Lindqvist was born in Stockholm. He was married to Cecilia Lindqvist from 1956 until their divorce in 1986. He was later married to economist Agneta Stark. Lindqvist died after a long illness on 14 May 2019, at the age of 87.[1]
