Sir Keir Rodney Starmer KCB KC MP (born 2 September 1962) is a British politician and barrister who has served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom since 5 July 2024, and has served as the leader of the Labour Party since 2020.[1] He was the Leader of the Opposition from 2020 until 2024. Since 2015, he has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Holborn and St Pancras, a constituency of the UK Parliament in Inner London.

Starmer was the Shadow Brexit Secretary in Jeremy Corbyn's Shadow Cabinet. He was Director of Public Prosecutions and Head of the Crown Prosecution Service from 2008 to 2013.[2]
