Abkhazian politician (1949-2011) / From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sergei Bagapsh (March 4, 1949 – May 29, 2011), was the President of Abkhazia, from 12 February 2005 until 29 May 2011.[1] He was also Prime Minister of Abkhazia during the late 1990s.

He was born in Sukhumi, Soviet Union. He graduated from the Georgian State University of Subtropical Agriculture in Sukhumi.
Bagapsh died of heart failure caused by lung cancer surgery, aged 62.
