Roy Linwood Clark (April 15, 1933 ā November 15, 2018) was an American country singer-songwriter, actor, guitarist and television presenter. He was best known for having hosted Hee Haw from 1969 to 1997. He also guest hosted for Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show. His best known song was "Yesterday, When I Was Young".
He was a member of the Grand Ole Opry from 1987 until his death,[1][2] and, in 2009, was added into the Country Music Hall of Fame.[3] Clark was born in Meherrin, Virginia.
Clark died on November 15, 2018 in Tulsa, Oklahoma from complications of pneumonia at the age of 85.[4]
