Ram Mandir or Ram Temple is a Hindu temple in Ayodhya, a city in Uttar Pradesh, India. The temple is built on the site of the historic Babri Mosque, that was attacked and demolished in 1992 by a group of Hindu extremists.[1][2] According to Hindus, the site is the birthplace of the Hindu god Rama.[3][4]
The city (where the temple is), is considered holy by the Hindus.[5]
