The oil-paper umbrella (Chinese: 油紙傘) is a type of paper umbrella from China.[1] It has spread to Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Burma, Thailand and Laos. People in these countries have developed the oil-paper umbrella with different features.
In China and Japan, in addition to use as providing shade, the oil-paper umbrella is used at weddings. In Ryukyu, it is also used at funerals.
