Nicole Heather Fried[1] (/friːd/ FREED;[2] born December 13, 1977) is an American politician and lawyer. She is the 12th Florida Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services since 2019. She is the first woman elected to the position, the first Democrat to hold it since 2001, and the only Democratic statewide elected official in Florida.[3]

In June 2021, Fried announced her candidacy for Governor of Florida in the 2022 election.[4] She lost the Democratic nomination to U.S. Representative Charlie Crist in the August 2022 primaries.
