Marianne Williamson, an author who was a candidate for the Democratic Party presidential nomination in 2020, announced her campaign for the 2024 United States presidential election on March 4, 2023.[2] Williamson was the first major Democratic candidate to officially announce their candidacy.[3][4]

Williamson supports healthcare for everyone, free higher education (college and university), free child care and a guaranteed living wage.[5] She also supports increased taxes on the rich, increasing renewable energy, a federal $15 an hour minimum wage and is pro-choice on abortion.[6]
She suspended her campaign on February 7, 2024.[7]
