Marianne Jean-Baptiste (born 27 April 1967) is an English actress.[1] She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Hortense in the 1996 movie Secrets & Lies. For the same role, she was also nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role and a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress-Motion Picture.[2]

Jean-Baptiste was also nominated with several NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. This was for her acting in the CBS television series Without a Trace.
