M. P. Veerendra Kumar (22 July 1936 ā 28 May 2020) was an Indian politician, writer and journalist. He was a Member of Parliament for Lok Sabha from 1996 to 1998 and again from 2004 to 2009. He was also a member of Rajya Sabha from 2016 to 2017 and again from 2019 to 2020. He was a member of the Loktantrik Janata Dal political party.

He was also the chairman and managing director of the Malayalam daily newspaper Mathrubhumi.
Kumer died of cardiac arrest at a hospital in Calicut, India on 28 May 2020, aged 83.[1]
