Jack Laxer (1927– June 12, 2018)[1] was an American photographer. He was best known for his work in stereoscopy. His photographs of California modern architecture have been published in magazines and books, displayed in museums.
Beginning in 1951 he documented the designs of Louis Armet and Eldon Davis including Norms, Pann’s, and the Holiday Bowl.[2] These images were included in Alan Hess’s book Googie: Fifties Coffee Shop Architecture,[3] setting off a revival of interest in the style beginning in the 1980s.
Laxer died on June 12, 2018 in Culver City, California from pneumonia at the age of 91.[4]
