Gerald Lee "Mac" McRaney (born August 19, 1947) is an American television and movie actor. McRaney is best known as one of the stars of the television shows Simon & Simon, Major Dad, and Promised Land. He was a series regular for the first season of Jericho, and the final season of Deadwood.

McRaney was born in Collins, Mississippi.[1] He is of Scottish and Choctaw Indian ancestry. He went to college at the University of Mississippi.[2] McRaney worked in the Louisiana oil fields before becoming an actor.
He is a conservative Republican.[3] He is a member of the National Rifle Association of America.
McRaney was married to Beverly Root from 1967 until they divorced in 1971. They had two children. He was married to Pat Moran from 1981 to 1989. They had a child. He married Delta Burke in 1989.
